José María Aznar, former Prime Minister of Spain and president of FAES Foundation, stressed on March 21st that “Spain has the capability to get out of this crisis situation” as the Government is making the right decisions and is very serious about its mandate”. Aznar made these statements at a live interview for Bloomberg TV. The former Prime Minister has participated at the 15ª Asian Investment Conference in Hong Kong. Aznar took part on a panel on the effect of the debt crisis in the future of the European Union with the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom John Major.

José María Aznar stated in Buenos Aires that Latin America needs, more than ever, “a project for the joining of the akin to boost ideas leading to progress, wellbeing and development”. “No country or region is doomed to fail. Spain’s and Latin America’s history proves this”, he added. “With sensible policies, there’s progress and wellbeing. However, with populism, there’s improvisation and bad policies, there’s poverty, corruption and lack of freedom”, Aznar said this during his address closing the third edition of the FAES Campus Argentina.

José María Aznar has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the Universidad Argentina de la Empresa (UADE) as an “acknowledgement to his outstanding political career and his staunch commitment in pursuit of freedom, democracy and Western humanism”. During his address, Aznar said that “our Spanish experience tells us we should use good years to make reforms and ensure tomorrow's growth and wellbeing”.
